# Turkiye, Syria

  • Hope of finding survivors fading, stretched rescue teams in Turkiye and Syria searched on Wednesday for signs of life in the rubble of thousands of buildings toppled by the World’s deadliest quake in over a decade, as the toll passed 11700.
  • Turkiye stricted access to twitter, an internet monitoring group said as Erdogan was facing criticism for his government’s slow response.
  • Teams from above 24 countries have joined in the rescue efforts.
  • In Turkiye’s malatya city, victim’s may have frozen to death as temperatures dipped to -6 degree celsius.

# Wheat prices

  • The government will next week offer around 16 lakh tonnes of wheat in the open market and also to agencies such as nafed and Kendriya bhandar.
  • Nafed and Bhandar sell atta at a cheaper rate than the current MRP of ₹29.5 per kg.
  • So far, FCI has auctioned over nine lakh tonnes of wheat in the open market.
  • The mandi prices of the crop are in the range of ₹2400 and ₹2500 a quintal against an MSP of ₹2125.

# RBI

  • The reserve Bank of India has forecast the economy to grow 6.4% in 2023-24, saying that economic activity in India remains resilient.
  • The growth forecast by the central bank is nearly similar to the projection in the Economic survey for 2022-23 at 6.5%.
  • The RBI projected inflation for 2022-23 at 6.5%.

# Pakistan

  • Expressing concern over the continued persecution of religious minorities in the country, the human rights Commission of Pakistan had called for an urgent legislation to criminalise forced conversion.
  • The sindh province of Pakistan hosts all the 90% of the minority hindus.
