# Assembly elections

  • A long and hard fought electoral battle came to an end in Uttar Pradesh on Monday with 57.17℅ of electorate spread over 9 districts voting in the seventh and final phase.
  • Most of the exit polls have predicted a clear majority for BJP in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Exit poll of Manipur election also predicts a BJP government.
  • Goa and Uttarakhand’s exit polls are not unanimous about BJP Or congress victory.
  • Most Exit polls predict a clean sweep of AAP in Punjab polls.

# Russia – Ukraine

  • Prime minister Narendra Modi told the Russian President that direct conversation with Ukrainian President Volodomyr zelensky may help Moscow find a solution to the ongoing war.
  • PM Modi spoke with putin and also with zelensky and conveyed Indian concerns on the evacuation of the Indian students stranded in Ukrainian city of Sumy.
  • The ministry of external affairs on Monday said around 17000 Indian students have been brought back from Ukraine.

  • India’s public broadcaster prasar bharti has signed an memorandum of understanding with yupp tv, an over the top (OTT) platform, in order to expand the reach of DD India channel.
  • DD India is now available on the OTT platform of Yupp tv in the United States, United Kingdom, west AsiaAsia, Europe, singapore, Australia.
  • The channel’s one of the popular shows, based on in depth analysis and research, is “bio quest”.

  • Commodity prices went on the rampage on Monday as industrial buyers and traders scrambled to source raw materials hit by supply disruptions caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
  • Nickel soared 30%, Platinum hit a record and gold broke through $2000 an ounce on safe haven appeal.
  • Oil and wheat jumped to 14 years high.
