# COP27

  • Over 190 countries including India, on the first day of UN climate summit at Sharm al sheikh on Sunday.
  • Countries agreed to include funding for loss and damage in the COP27 agenda.
  • This is the first time since climate talks started that countries agreed for funding for loss and damage.
  • India will contribute effectively for devising a mechanism said environment minister Bhupendra yadav.

# Air quality index

  • Delhi’s air quality improved for a straight second day, although continuing in the very poor category.
  • The sub committee of the Commission for air quality management (CAQM) revoked the serious plus measures under stage 4 of the Graded response action plan.
  • However, the ban on BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel cars imposed by the state government continues.

# Twitter

  • Twitter announced on Saturday that it would begin charging customers $7.99/ month to receive a verification check mark on their profile.
  • The announcement was included in notes accompanying a new update to the Twitter app that appeared in apple’s App Store.
  • Twitter has laid off roughly half of the country’s work force or about 3700 jobs.

  • Currency with the public has jumped to a new high of ₹30.9 lakh crore as Of October 21.
  • At ₹30.9 lakh crore, the currency with the public is 75% higher than the level for the fortnight ended November 4,2016.
