# Operation Ganga

  • India has brought back over 15920 nationals on 76 flights under the evacuation mission “operation Ganga” launched following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
  • However, nearly 700 students are trapped in Sumy, waging a grim battle for survival.
  • An attempt to evacuate residents from the besieged southern Ukrainian city of Mariupol for a second day on Sunday due to clear agreements between both sides.

# Trainer aircraft

  • A first of its kind indigent trainer aircraft HANSA-NG has completed sea trials in Puducherry.
  • HANSA-NG has been developed by the CSIR – national aerospace laboratory.
  • It is reportedly one of the most advanced flying trainers powered by a Rotax digital control engine.
  • It is an ideal aircraft for commercial pilot licensing due to its low cost and low fuel consumption.

# Russia sanctions

  • Chinese People’s liberation Army is set to hold its annual summer exercise in Tibet.
  • The Indian armed forces are keeping a close eye to ensure China does not resort to any misadventure along the Line of actual control.
  • Indian Army said they are more prepared than 2020 when Galwan incident happened.

# Punjab

  • Every winter, the birds make their way to India through the central Asian flyway.
  • Every year, the wildlife department of forests and wildlife preservation, Punjab conducts water bird census exercise.
  • However,the census could not be done this year on account of dense fog conditions.
