# Tirupati temple

  • The net worth of the Lord Venkateshwara temple, believed to be one of the richest in India, is pegged at ₹2.3 lakh crore.
  • Tirumala tirupati Devasthanams keeper of the temple dedicated to Tirupati’s presiding deity, declared its net worth for the first time since its founding in 1933.
  • The temple trust said it has 10.3 tonnes of gold deposits in nationalised banks worth more than ₹ 5300 crore at current bullion rates.
  • The income comes from donations by the faithfuls, businesses and institutions.

# UNSC

  • India voted in the favor of a Russian resolution on combating glorification of Nazism that was adopted by a United Nations General Assembly committee on Friday.
  • India was among 105 countries that voted in favour of the resolution which, according to the West, was used by Moscow to justify its actions in Ukraine.
  • While 52 countries voted against the resolution, 15 abstained.

# Sugar

  • The government on Saturday allowed export of 60 lakh tonnes of Sugar on quota basis till may 31.
  • Based on domestic sugar production volumes, additional allocation of export quota will be decided later.

# COP27

  • The annual UN climate change conference will begin in Sharm al sheikh in the backdrop of the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war.
  • India will stress on the completion of targets of COP 26.
