# Russia – Ukraine

  • President Vladimir Putin warned on Saturday that Russia would consider any third party declaration of a no-fly zone over Ukraine as participation in the war.
  • Also, both sides blamed each other for failure to create a humanitarian corridor for evacuation of civilians.
  • International monetary Fund has warned of serious global economic impact of war.

# FATF

  • The global money laundering and terrorist financing watchdog FATF has retained Pakistan on its terrorism financing grey list.
  • Pakistan has been on the Grey list of the Paris based Financial action task force since June 2018 for failing to check money laundering, leading to terror financing.
  • The plenary on Friday decided against exiting Pakistan from the category despite the country meeting 32 out of 34 action points.

# China

  • China on Saturday announced a 7.1% hike in its defence spending as well as an annual GDP growth target of 5.5% for the coming year.
  • The defence spending would be hiked by 7.1% to 1.45 trillion yuan Or around $230 billion.
  • India’s defence spending this year was announced as around $70 billion.

# MILAN

  • Indian Navy ‘s largest multilateral exercise MILAN 2022, which saw the participation of more than 40 countries, ended on Friday.
  • The Sea phase of the 11th edition saw the participation of 26 ships, one Submarine and 21 aircraft.
  • The harbour phase was held from February 25 to 28 and the sea phase from March 1 to 4.
