Atleast 15 civilians and one soldier were killed following a botched operation by the army in the Mon district of nagaland on Saturday evening and retaliatory violence in the ensuing 24 hours.
The state government and the army have ordered an Investigation.
The army’s 3 corps based near dimapur town in the state admitted to an intelligence failure with statement of regret.
Soon after the violence in Mon, ban orders under the section 144 of the code of criminal procedure were inposed in the district.
