Severely criticising “sealed cover” proceedings, the Supreme Court on Wednesday barred the government from using national security as a pretext to use the procedure and keep an aggrieved litigant in the dark about the reasons behind contested action.
Supreme Court said disclosure of facts and reasons through the sealed cover by the government citing national security restricted the core principle of natural justice as the litigant could not know the rationale of a decision that violated her rights.
Supreme Court struck down the 2022 decision of the Central government to revoke the broadcasting license of Media one channel.
