# Farmers’ agitation

  • The samyukt kisan morcha (SKM) on Saturday formed a five member committee to discuss its remaining demands with the Union Government.
  • SKM also decided to continue the farmer’s agitation.
  • One of the most important demands is the withdrawal of cases against farmers during the agitation.

# cultural mapping of villages

  • Cultural mapping of 80 villages associated with noted personalities in history, unique crafts and festivals has been started as a pilot project, cultural ministry officials said.
  • The project is expected to be completed this financial year.
  • This cultural mapping of villages will be conducted by the Indira Gandhi national centre for the arts.

# India Russia rifle deal

  • The cabinet committee on security has given its final approval for a deal with Russia to manufacture over six lakh AK-203 assault rifles in India.
  • The deal is estimated to be worth over 5000 crore rupees.
  • The deal is scheduled to be signed on December 6 during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India.

# IMF

  • Global economic growth protections from the international monetary Fund will likely to be downgraded due to the emergence of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
  • The IMF said in October it expected the global economy to grow 5.9℅ this year and 4.9℅ next year.
