# Delhi

  • Expressing serious concern over “severe” Air quality in Delhi and its impact on the health of the children, the national commission for protection of child rights has asked the state government to consider closing schools till the situation improves.
  • The commission sought an action taken report on the matter within 24 hours.
  • Meanwhile, Punjab recorded the highest number of single day crop stubble fires(3634) on Wednesday.

# India

  • Russia has muscled its way as India’s top oil supplier in October, relegating Iraq and Saudi Arabia to second and third spots.
  • From less than 1% in 2019, Russian oil today makes up 22% of about 5 million barrels per day shipped in by India.
  • India is the third largest oil guzzler after US and China.
  • According to experts, the purchase of Russian oil at discounts has led to an estimated savings of ₹35000 crore.
