# Tata

  • In a move that will create India’s largest international carrier and second largest domestic carrier in terms of market share and aircraft fleet.
  • The owners of air India and vistara have agreed to merge their local airline operations.
  • As part of the deal, Tata sons will hold 74.9% in the combined entity, while Singapore Airlines will own 25.1%.
  • Currently, Tata sons owns 100% in air India and 51% in Vistara, with SIA holding the balance 49%.

#Dharavi

  • With its ₹5069 crore bid, the Adani group has bagged the ₹23000 crore Dharavi redevelopment project, stuck for nearly two decades.
  • This Dharavi project includes rebuilding housing and commercial space in what is now one the world’s biggest slums.
  • Adani properties private limited on Tuesday emerged as the highest bidder and the other bidder was Gurugram based DLF which bid for ₹2025 crore.

# Smartwatch

  • Led by local brands, highly affordable products and festive demand, India emerged as the biggest smartwatch market in the world ahead of North America and China.
  • The leadership assumes significance as the brands contributing to the surge are mostly local ones, quite unlike the smartphone market which is dominated by Chinese brands.
  • Volumes in India have been led by brands such as Noise and Fire bolt.

# United Kingdom

  • Indian origin people remain both the largest Asian ethnic group and largest non while ethnic group in the UK and now make up 3.1% of the population at 1.8 million, the latest data from the 2021 UK census has revealed.
  • Pakistani origin people make up the second largest non white ethnic group at 1.5 million, a 41% increase on 2011.
