# Omicron

  • The heavily mutated omicron coronavirus variant is likely to spread internationally and poses a very high risk of infection.
  • No omicron related deaths has yet been reported.
  • This Omicron variant was first reported in South Africa.

  • The finance ministry on Monday said that government does not collect information on cryptocurrency and or bitcoin transaction in the country.
  • Finance ministry also said that there are no plans to recognize bitcoin as currency.
