Gross GST revenue receipts in December totalled totalled nearly ₹1.5 lakh crore, up 15% year on year, signalling that demand remains robust and efforts to boost compliance have had an impact.
Data released by the finance ministry on Sunday showed gross GST revenues were ₹1.49 lakh crore in December.
It is the 10th consecutive month when revenue crossed ₹1.4 lakh crore.
In November, 7.9 crore e way bills were generated, which was significantly higher than 7.6 crore e way bills generated in October 2022.

After the success of iphone production in India, the government is set to sweeten the deal to kick start the coveted manufacturing of Mac books and ipads in the country.
Central government is looking to broad base the production linked incentive scheme for IT hardware to nearly ₹20000 crore against the existing outlay of ₹7350 crore which failed to receive much response from the industry.
This PLI scheme had been approved by the Union cabinet in February 2021, and had promised incentive support of 1-4% over a four year period, the new scheme wants to boost this to an average of 5%.

The annual average PM2.5 concentration of Delhi in 2022 fell below 100 micrograms per cubic metre for only the second time 2017.
This made the year gone by the second cleanest in the last six years.
At 99.7 micrograms per cubic metre, Delhi’s PM 2.5 level in 2022 was higher than only the average level recorded during the lockdown year of 2020.

The almost 12 lakh strong army is actively working on several proposals to improve its tooth to tail ratio by further reducing its support manpower.
This comes after the recruitment process was suspended for two years before the Agnipath scheme was launched last year.
