Reliance jio has bid almost half of all the airwaves sold with bids totalling ₹88078 crores.
Gautam Adani’s group ₹212 crore rupees for 400 MHz or less than 1% of all spectrum sold, in a band that is not used for public telephony services.
Telecom tycoon’s Sunil Bharti mittal’s Bharti Airtel made a successful bid of ₹43084 crores.
Vodafone idea limited bought the spectrum for ₹18799 crores.
Telecom minister Ashwini vaishnav said of the 72098 MHz of spectrum offered across 10 bands, 51236 MHz or 71% was sold.
# GST collections
The Goods and services tax yielded ₹148995 crores in revenues during July.
This is the second highest monthly collections since the launch of the GST regime and the highest in three months.
July’s GST kitty is 28% higher than a year earlier driven by a 48% jump in revenue from import of goods.
# Gati shakti university
Education minister Dharmendra pradhan on Monday introduced the central university (amendment) bill.
This bill seeks to convert the National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI), a deemed to be university into the Gati shakti vishwavidyalaya, an autonomous central university.
The bill seeks to expand the scope of the university from beyond just the railways to cover the entire transportation sector.
The new university will be funded and administered by the ministry of railways.
# Manufacturing PMI
India’s manufacturing sector rebounded in July, with sales and output growing at the fastest pace.
The PMI quickened last month to 56.4, from June’s 9 month low of 53.9.
