# Supreme Court judges

  • On Friday, the centre amended the supreme Court judges rules the second time in a week to provide chauffeurs and domestic help for retired chief justices of India and Supreme Court judges for their entire lifetime.
  • Retired CJIs would also get secretarial assistants.
  • The staff would be paid the salary and allowances of regular employees of the Supreme Court.
  • The notifications issued by the law ministry however said these post retirement benefits would be available only if the retirees were not getting similar facilities from any High Court or government body.

# Argentina

  • India on Friday reiterated support for international negotiations regarding a territorial matter between Argentina and the United Kingdom in the Southern Atlantic.
  • Visiting Buenos Aires as part of his three country tour in Latin America, External affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held official discussions on a wide range of topics including the decades old Malvinas Or the Falkland islands territorial issue.
  • The two sides also held talks for enhancing military exchanges trade in the strategic sectors.

# Pakistan

  • The Pakistan government has decided to call in the Army to help in the rescue and relief operations after many parts of the country were ravaged by the worst floods in more than a decade that has affected more than 33 million people.
  • So far, 982 people have been killed due to floods across Pakistan.
  • Sindh and Balochistan provinces have been worst hit by the disaster.

# Telecom sector

  • As many as 32 companies have submitted applications under the Design led incentive scheme (DLI) and production linked incentive (PLI) scheme of telecom sector.
  • The design led incentive scheme has received an “enthusiastic response” from telecom equipment manufacturers.
