# Birbhum violence
The central bureau of investigation on Friday took over the probe into the mass killings at Bogtui village in West Bengal’s Birbhum district.
On March 21, eight people were burnt to death in a village after a Trinamool congress deputy pradhaan was murdered.
The High court directed the CBI to submit a report on its findings by April 7.
The Division bench observed that the state set up a special investigation team on March 22 but there is no effective contribution of the SIT on the investigation.
# Law ministry
The government of India was exploring the possibility of allowing online voting for non resident Indians as well as considering linking aadhaar with the electoral rolls to check fraudulent voting.
Law minister Kiren rijiju said no questions should be raised about the electronic voting machines.

Spectrum auction will be conducted very soon and the next generation 5G services are expected to commence before the end of year.
Minister of state for communication Devusinh Chauhan said four companies had been allocated spectrum for conducting trials which were expected to be completed soon.
# Sugar exports
India plans to restrict sugar exports for the first time in six years to prevent a surge in domestic prices.
Government could cap this season’s exports at 8 million tonnes.
