# India-Egypt

  • Counter terrorism efforts, increasing Radicalization and cyber security were among the issues that dominated PM Narendra Modi’s dialogue with Egyptian President Abdel fatah al sisi.
  • The summit also saw India and Egypt elevating there relationship to the level of strategic partnership in an effort to ramp up defense, political, energy and economic ties.
  • The two countries also signed five MOUs including one for cooperation in cyber security and discussed ways to strengthen food and health care security.
  • Defense cooperation to include exercises, equipment, training platforms and industry to industry synergy.

# Padma awards

  • SP founder Mulaayam singh yadav, iconic architect Baalkrishna Doshi and Dilip Mahalanabis, who pioneered the use of ORS have been posthumously awarded Padma vibhushan, India’s second highest civilian award.
  • Other awardees are Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, mathematician Srinivas vardhan and former union minister and ex karnataka CM SM Krishna.
  • Nine persons have been chosen for Padma bhushan including industrialist kumar Manglam birla and philanthropist and Infosys foundation chairperson Sudha murty.

# Women’s IPL

  • On Wednesday, five companies spurlged almost ₹4670 crores for the women’s premier League, the newly coined name for Women’s IPL.
  • The Adani group bought the Ahmedabad franchise with the highest bid of ₹1289 crore.
  • Adani and Capri global, also owns Sharjah warriors in ILT20 in the UAE.

# Atta prices

  • The government on Wednesday approved the sale of 30 lakh tonnes of wheat from buffer stocks in the open market to cool down prices of wheat and atta.
  • The sale of wheat from Food corporation of India stock through e-auction under open market sale scheme.
