The world development report has estimated a 120% income gain for Indians going to work overseas, compared to a 40% rise in case of internal migration.
The report released on Tuesday has estimated that low skilled Indians migrating to the US stand to gain the most as they would see a jump in income of nearly 500%, followed by UAE at almost 300%.
Those migrating to the Gulf cooperation council nations comprising Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and UAE, stand to gain less.
The report estimated the number of migrants globally at 184 million, which is 2.3% of the population, including 37 million refugees.
# Wheat procurement
The government procurement of wheat during the current Rabi marketing season has increased by almost 25% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Data show that the wheat procurement touched 171 lakh tonnes as on Monday and during last year, the government entities had procured 188 lakh tonnes.
Meanwhile, the centre has allowed the states including UP to procure wheat through panchayats and they will get the commission ₹27 per quintal.
The food ministry has also allowed Rajasthan government to procure wheat on non-DCP mode, which means food corporation of India directly or through the state government agencies will procure wheat from the purchase centres.
# Ease of moving index
Pune and pimpri chinchwad in Maharashtra topped the list of 40 prominent cities in terms of ease of movement and ease of reaching destination in 2022, according to a study carried out by the Ola mobility Institute.
Mumbai ranked second and Coimbatore ranked third, followed by Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Indore.
As per the report, Aizwal in mizoram emerged as a top performer in clean mobility.
Kanpur emerged as the safest city to travel on public transport.
