# Quad summit

  • The Quad summit in Japan on Tuesday will provide an opportunity to the leaders to review the progress of their common initiatives and exchange views on the developments in the Indo-pacific region and global issues of mutual interest.
  • PM Modi’s most significant engagement on Monday will be his participation in the launch of US President Joe Biden’s ambitious Indo-pacific economic framework (IPEF).
  • IPEF initiative seeks the integration of Indo-pacific economies and secure and resilient supply chains.
  • Meanwhile, China on Sunday hit out at Indo-pacific strategy of US ahead of Quad summit, saying it is bound to fail.

# Gyanvapi dispute

  • Five Hindu women plaintiffs have told the Supreme Court that the entire Gyanvapi mosque land belonged to Kashi Vishwanath temple.
  • Hindu side cited a British government trial court statement repudiating a Muslim person’s 1936 suit for a declaration that the mosque land was a mosque property.
  • Arguments in the mata shringaar gauri case will resume on Monday in the court of the Varanasi district judge.

# National highways

  • The pace of annual construction of four, six and eight lane national highways has increased by more than 300% during the past seven years.
  • It has increased from merely 1289 KM in 2015-16 to 3963 KM in 2021-22, according to government data.
  • NHAI official said the achievement in four lane and above category will touch a record by 2026-27 when most of the 22 expressways and economic corridor projects with cumulative length of 5600 KM gets completed.

# Zepto

  • Instant grocery start up Zepto may foray into the online pharmacy space.
  • Zepto will be competing with well entranched rivals such as swiggy’s instamart, reliance backed Dunzo, tata backed Big bazaar and Zomato’s blinkit.
