# Anti farm law protests

  • The Samyukta kishan morcha, the umbrella body of farmers Union that is leading protests against farm laws have written an open letter to the Prime minister.
  • In the open letter, SKM has demanded legal gurantee remunerative minimum support prices and withdrawal of the draft electricity amendment bill, 2020.
  • The Union cabinet at its next meeting on November 24, will take up for approval the repeal of three farm laws announced by Narendra modi on November 20.
  • The proposal to repeal will then be taken up by parliament at the start of the winter session on November 29.

# Bhopal, Indore

  • Madhya pradesh chief minister shivraj singh chauhan on Sunday announced the implementation of a police commissioner system in Bhopal and Indore.
  • This step has been taken to improve the law and order in these cities.
  • Once being implemented, ADG rank officers will be posted in both of these cities as commissioners.
  • Under commissioners, police will get magisterial powers and they have no longer to wait for magisterial orders for laathicharge and imposition of article 144.

# Cow welfare measures

  • Madhya pradesh CM shivraj singh chauhan has decided to set up a tax plan for cow welfare in the state.
  • A tax plan will be prepared to mop up funds for cow welfare.
  • Chief minister also directed officials to built 2200 cow shelters in the state.

# Democracy summit

  • Prime minister Narendra Modi is expected to take part in Joe Biden’s summit for democracy.
  • PM Modi’s participation, along with leaders of more than 100 countries invited, is expected to include ” Individual and collective commitments to defend democracy and human rights at home and abroad”.
  • This summit is expected to send a message to Russia and china.
