# Uttarakhand, Goa

  • The BJP on Monday opted to continue with Pushkar Singh Dhami and Pramod Sawant as chief Ministers of Uttarakhand and Goa respectively.
  • In the case of Uttarakhand, the decision to retain Pushkar Singh Dhami came despite the fact that he lost his seat of Khatima.
  • Since the Uttarakhand assembly does not have an upper house or legislative Council, Mr. Dhami will now have to be elected to the assembly in a by election within six months.
  • Also, Pramod sawant has been named as the Chief minister of Goa for a second consecutive term.

# India – Australia

  • Developments such as those in Ukraine should never happen in the Indo Pacific, Prime minister Scott Morrison of Australia said on Monday.
  • Scott Morrison was adressing virtual India – Australia summit.
  • The bilateral meeting is first such interaction between the two countries since the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

# Central Vista project

  • The construction of the new Parliament building is 44% complete, while the redevelopment of the Central vista avenue had achieved 80% of the physical targets.
  • Two other projects under the larger central vista plan that is the vice president’s enclave and three buildings of the common central secretariat had achieved 3% of their targets.
  • All the projects are monitored by the ministry of Urban affairs and Central public Works department.

# Domestic air traffic

  • Domestic air traffic grew 20% in February compared with the previous month.
  • India’s airlines ferried a total of 76.96 lakh passengers in February compared with 64.08 lakh in January.
