# Rupee

  • The rupee closed below 83 for the first time on Wednesday at 83.02 losing 0.8% against dollar.
  • Yields on 10 year US bonds rose to 4% following the UK central bank saying it would stop buying government bonds.
  • With the dollar continuing to gain, tge rupee could touch 84 levels.
  • Dollar is gaining against all major currencies including pound and euro.

# Airforce

  • PM Modi on Wednesday laid the foundation stone of a new airbase at Deesa in the North Gujarat’s Banaskantha district near the Pakistan border.
  • This forward Indian Airforce base will add to the security architecture of the country.
  • Deesa Airforce base is just 130 km from the Pakistan border.

# United Kingdom

  • Indian origin british MP Suella Braverman, whose off the cuff remark on the migrants from India caused condemnation in India.
  • She has resigned from her post of home secretary in just two months.
  • Her exit comes after the chancellor of the Exchequer, Kwasi kwarteng, was sacked by British PM Liz truss.

# Inflation

  • RBI monetary policy committee member Ashima goyal on Wednesday said that the efforts of the RBI to contain price rise by repeatedly increasing interest rates will help in containing inflation, which is likely to fall below 6% next year.
  • In order to contain rising inflation, the RBI on September 30, raised the short term lending rate for the third consecutive time by 50 basis points.
