# Farm laws

  • Prime minister Narendra modi on Friday announced the repeal of the three contentious farm laws.
  • Prime minister assured the protesting farmers that the legislative process for the withdrawal of farm laws will be completed in the upcoming winter session of parliament.
  • PM also reiterated that the government’s intention behind bringing these farm laws was to provide alternative to small farmers, who constituted 80℅ of farmer’s community.

# National education policy

  • The new education policy lays emphasis on imparting education in mother tongue especially in primary classes.
  • The language base of Odisha’s adivasi community is as diverse as 21 spoken languages further divided into 74 dialects.
  • The ST and SC development department of the Odisha state government has already started working on project called Samhiti to address the language issues faced by tribal students in early grades or elementary classes.
