Telangana has become the 10th state to withdraw the general consent to the CBI.
It means that the Central agency has to take prior consent for a probe from the state government on a case to case basis.
The Telangana government had withdrawn the general consent in an order issued on August 30 itself but it came to public knowledge after the state additional Advocate general informed the Telangana high court about it during arguments on the petition filed by the BJP seeking a CBI probe into the TRS mla’s poaching case.
Before Telangana, nine other states that have withdrawn consent to the CBI are namely Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Kerala and Mizoram.
# The wire fraud
The wire has filed a complaint against its researcher, Devesh kumar, at the Economic offences wing of the Delhi Police.
This complaint comes after the Delhi Police has registered an FIR against its founders and editors in connection with the meta fabricated stories.
The fabricated stories which are now retracted, had reported that BJP IT cell head Amit malviya used his special privileges at social media giant meta to take down over 700 posts.
# Free trade agreement
India and the Gulf cooperation council member countries are expected to start negotiations for a free trade agreement next month with an aim to boost bilateral trade.
GCC is an union of six countries in the Gulf region – Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.
India has already implemented the FREE trade agreement with UAE in May this year.
