# HAL

  • Hindustan Aeronautics limited has received the letter of intent from the services for the manufacture of 12 Light utility helicopters (LUH), which have been designed and developed indigenously.
  • The army is in the negotiations for acquiring 11 more Apache AH – 64E attack helicopters from US.
  • In addition, the request for quotation (RFQ) for the larger order of the LUH has also been issued.
  • The army is looking at acquiring around 111 LUHs and 95LCHs.

# Uniform civil code

  • A parliamentary panel has reviewed God’s Uniform civil code, and some its members feel that there are some peculiar and outdated provisions related to matrimony in it.
  • The Goa civil code is a set of civil laws that govern all residents of the coastal state irrespective of their religion and ethnicity.
  • Goa civil code has come under focus amid a call for the implementation of a uniform civil code (UCC) across the country.

  • After the success of the CoWin as a platform for the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination, the central government is looking to repurpose the technology for more health care requirement.
  • Work is on to adapt the app for the universal immunization programme.
