# India-Pakistan

  • BCCI secretary Jay Shah made it clear that India will not travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia cup.
  • Sources close to PCB chairman Ramiz raja said that after shah’s statement, Pakistan is thinking of pulling out of the ODI world Cup to be held in India next year.
  • Jay shah said that Asia cup has been played at the neutral venue in the past as well.
  • Meanwhile, Roger binny has been elected unopposed as new BCCI chief on Tuesday.

# MSP

  • The government on Tuesday unveiled a bigger hike in minimum support price for rabi crops over last year’s increase to make MSP more attractive for farmers to grow oilseeds and pulses.
  • This MSP hike will help in cutting import dependence and also in increasing the procurement of wheat.
  • The cabinet committee on economic affairs decided to increase the MSP on wheat by 5.4% or ₹110 per quintal to ₹2125 in 2023-24.
  • Wheat occupies the highest acreage among all the six winter sown crops.

  • In a single largest restoration yet, US authorities on Monday returned to India 307 antiquities valued at nearly $4 million dollars.
  • At least 10 of these idols were stolen from temples in Tamil Nadu.
  • All the 307 antiquities were returned during a repatriation ceremony at the Indian consulate in New York.

# Landline

  • Reliance jio has toppled state run BSNL in August to become India’s largest landline telephone service provider.
  • This is for the first time since the beginning of telecom services in the country that a private sector company leads in this category.
