# MSP
The government on Tuesday unveiled a bigger hike in minimum support price for rabi crops over last year’s increase to make MSP more attractive for farmers to grow oilseeds and pulses.
This MSP hike will help in cutting import dependence and also in increasing the procurement of wheat.
The cabinet committee on economic affairs decided to increase the MSP on wheat by 5.4% or ₹110 per quintal to ₹2125 in 2023-24.
Wheat occupies the highest acreage among all the six winter sown crops.
