Jammu and Kashmir lieutenant governor Manoj sinha on Thursday ordered a magisterial enquiry into the encounter in Hyderpora, Srinagar, on November 15 after three families claimed that three of the four persons killed during the operation were civilians.
The orders came hours after the police removed the family members from a protest site in the city.
The family members of the killed suspected overground workers of terrorists had gathered at the press enclave to demand the dead body of the killed persons.
# Skin to skin contact
The supreme Court on Thursday quashed a Bombay high court decision to acquit a man charged with assault under the protection of child under sexual offences (POSCO) solely on the grounds that he groped the child over the clothes without skin to skin contact.
The act of touching a sexual part of the body with the sexual intent will not be trivialised and not excluded under section 7 of the POSCO act, supreme Court said.
Section 7 mandates that ” Whoever with sexual intent touches the vagina, penis, anus or breast of the child or make to touch anyone’s sexual part with sexual intent which includes physical contact without penetration is said to commit sexual assault.
# Clean yamuna
Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced a 6 point action plan to completely clean the yamuna river by 2025.
He also said that he himself would take a dip in yamuna before next assembly elections in Delhi.
The action plan includes building new water sewage treatment plant and enhancing the capacity of existing STPs.
# Air passenger traffic
Domestic air passenger volume spiked 70.5% in October to 89.85 lakh over over the same month of 2020, Dgca Data showed on Thursday.
The Indian carriers had flown 52.71 lakh passengers in October last year.
