# Hunger

  • The central government has informed the supreme court that no one died of starvation in recent times across the country.
  • Supreme court was informed that both Central and state governments has undertaken many steps to provide food grains even in times of pandemic.
  • Supreme court insisted on specific data to back the claim of no deaths due to hunger.
  • The central government has informed the supreme court that actual data can only be provided by state governments on hunger related death.

# Republic day

  • This republic Day many new events will take place on the occasion of republic Day celebrations.
  • A laser projection on the walls of North and South block will take place.
  • A show by 1000 swarm drones will be conducted during “Beating retreat” Ceremony.
  • The number of attendees during republic day celebrations will be between 5000-8000 due to Covid-19 Pandemic.

# Covid-19 pandemic

  • India recorded 279031 new covid-19 cases on Tuesday, a 42.8℅ increase from a week ago.
  • The total number of infections has reached 3.76 crore and the active cases have crossed the 17.6 lakh mark.
  • On Monday 16.4 lakh tests were conducted.
  • The positivity rate per hundred tests was 16.9℅.

# Oil prices

  • Oil prices rose more than $1 on Tuesday to a more than seven year high.
  • The new geopolitical tensions between iran backed rebels and saudi backed coalition forces has fulled this rise.

# Akasa air

  • The country’s newest airline, Akasa air plans to get its first aircraft in April and begins its operation by late may or early june.
  • The airline plans to have a fleet of 18 planes in the first 12 months and start operation on domestic routes.
