# G20

  • India will host a senior official level meeting of G20 cultural ministries in Jammu and Kashmir in May.
  • India has rejected the objections by Pakistan which had lobbied member states like China, Turkiye and Saudi Arabia to prevent the Indian government from hosting any such meeting in the UT.
  • Member countries will discuss protection and restitution of Cultural property harnessing living heritage of sustainable future, promotion of cultural industries and leveraging of digital technologies for protection of culture.
  • G20 meetings will be held in all 28 states and eight union territories of India.

# ICC

  • The International criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant on Friday against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
  • ICC has accused Putin of the war crime of illegal deportation of Children from Ukraine.
  • Putin is the only third serving president to have been issued an ICC arrest warrant after Sudan’s Omar Al Bashir and Libya’s Gaddafi.
  • Moscow has repeatedly denied accusations that its forces have committed atrocities during the invasion.

# RAW

  • Generally, it is not a practice to seek reports from Research and Analysis wing on proposals for appointment of Judges in high courts and Supreme Court, except in extraordinary circumstances involving issues related to national security said law minister.
  • Citing an intelligence report, the government has not yet cleared the proposal sent by a Supreme Court collegium despite its restoration of the name, for having national security implications.

# Rajasthan

  • Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot on Friday announced the creation of 19 new districts.
  • This was a much anticipated move that takes the total districts from 33 to 50 in the state.
  • Gehlot also announced the adding of three new administrative divisions – Sikar, Banswara and Pali – to the list of seven existing divisions.
