BJP president JP Nadda on Wednesday effected a major organisational rejig of the parliamentary board, the highest decision making body in the party, and the central election committee that goes into candidate selection.
Former chief ministers BS Yediurppa and Sarbanand Sonowal are among those newly elected.
Former BJP president and Roads and Highway minister Nitin Gadakri has been dropped from the parliamentary board. Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj singh Chauhan has also been dropped.
The board in its previous form had five vacancies due to the passing away senior leaders Arun Jaitley, Sushma swaraj, Ananth kumar and two others.
# Rohingya
Hours after minister of Urban Development Hardeep singh Puri tweeted that all Rohingya illegal migrants from Myanmar living in a camp in Delhi will be shifted to flats, the ministry of home affairs issued a strong denial.
The home ministry also said that it had issued orders that the Shanty town where the rohingya’s were now living in be designated a detention centre, pending the deportation of all of the illegal immigrants.
The MHA has directed the government of Delhi to ensure that the rohingya illegal immigrants will continue at the present location.

# Rice production
The Union agriculture ministry released on Wednesday the fourth advanced estimates of production of major agricultural crops for 2021-22.
The ministry said the production of foodgrains in the country is estimated at 315.72 million tonnes, which is higher by 4.98 million tonnes than 2020-21.
