The supreme Court did not accept an oral plea made by petitioners to stay the tabling of the final draft report of the Jammu and Kashmir delimitation commission in Parliament.
The supreme Court on Friday directed the centre to file an affidavit responding to a challenge to the delimitation exercise undertaken in Jammu and Kashmir following the withdrawal of special status granted to the state under Article 370 and its subsequent bifurcation.
The Court ordered the government to file its affidavit in six weeks and gave the petitioners two weeks to submit their rejoinder.
The SC judge also asked the petitioner that why they took two years to challenge the delimitation commission after it was constituted.

The Indian embassy in Ukraine, which was temporarily working out of Poland capital Warsaw since March 13, to return to Kyiv from May 13, the ministry of external affairs announced in New Delhi on Friday.
India is one of the several leading nations that have ordered their diplomatic teams to return to Kyiv.
