# Retail inflation

  • Retail inflation quickened to 5.59℅ in December due to an uptick in food prices.
  • India’s industrial output grew at a subdued rate of 1.4℅ in November 2021.
  • This data has been released by the national statistical office.
  • The inflation based on the Consumer price index (CPI) compares with 4.91℅ seen a month earlier and 4.59℅ in December 2021.

# Assam-Meghalaya

  • Union Home minister Amit shah is expected to seal the final agreement to end the dispute in six areas of the Assam – Meghalaya boundary.
  • The agreement is expected to be finalised ahead of Meghalaya’s 50th Statehood day celebration on January 21.
