Searches were conducted at 24 locations in Delhi-NCR, Patna, Mumbai and Ranchi on premises linked to former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu prasad yadav, Bihar deputy CM Tejasvi yadav, and his daughters in Land for job scam probe.
After the raids, Enforcement Directorate claimed on Saturday, it has seized documents revealing “proceeds of crime” Worth ₹600 crore.
The documents pertain to the ownership of immovable properties worth ₹350 crore and transactions worth ₹ 250 crore created through various benamidaars, according to the agency.
Several pieces of land at prominent locations in patna and other areas were illegally acquired by the family.
# Direct tax collections
Direct tax collections rose by 22.6% to ₹16.7 lakh crore during the fiscal year upto March 10.
Provisional data released by the Central board of direct taxes pegged the collections, net of refunds, at ₹13.7 lakh crore, which is around 16.8% higher than a year ago.
Refunds have shot up more than 59% to almost ₹ 3 lakh crore during the current fiscal year.
Collections so far are 96.7% of the budget estimates, which were revised upwards.
# Manipur
The manipur government has decided to rescind its ceasefire pact with militant group Kuki national army and Zomi revolutionary army, claiming that their leaders were not from the state.
The decision followed a recent allegation that the leadership of these two Kuki rebel groups is from Myanmar.
It was reported that KNA and ZRA militants were instigating poppy cultivators in the state against the government policy.
