# Quad meeting

  • The foreign ministers of Australia, India, Japan and US said the Quad was already cooperating on sharing intelligence on threats in the Indo-pacific region.
  • The foreign ministers of four countries hold their fourth quadrilateral committee meeting in Melbourne.
  • The Quad countries committed to stronger cooperation in Indo-pacific but remain divided on Russia and Myanmar issues.

# Industrial growth

  • India’s industrial recovery slowed sharply in December with factory output growing just 0.4℅ year-on-year.
  • Manufacturing shrinked 0.1℅ in December, as per quick official estimates for the index of industrial production (IIP).
  • Capital goods output shrank 4.6℅, while consumer durables contracted for the fourth month in a row, by 2.7℅.

# Milan 2022

  • The Navy is set to hold the 12th President’s fleet Review on February 21 at Vishakhapattanam.
  • Indian navy will also host the largest multinational exercise in the region, Milan 2022.
