# Democracy summit

  • Democracies should jointly deal with social media and cryptocurrencies, prime minister said in a virtual address at the summit of democracy.
  • Summit of democracy was hosted by US President Joe Biden, where more than 100 democracies were invited.
  • US President Joe Biden announced the establishment of the presidential initiative for democratic renewal, under which the administration plans to provide 424.4 billion dollars for strengthening democratic values.

# Gurugram namaz row

  • Haryana chief minister Manohar lal khattar on Friday said that the offering of namaz in the open could not be tolerated and a fresh approach would be taken to work out an amicable solution to the matter.

  • The government spent 80℅ of the funds under the Beti bachao beti padhao scheme on media campaigns.
  • The committee finds that out of the 447 crore rupees released during the 2016-19 period, a, whooping 80℅ was spent on medi advocacy.
