# 127th Constitution amendment bill

 

 

  • The Lok Sabha on Tuesday passed the 127th constitution amendment bill, 2021, with unanimous support from the house and not a single vote against.
  • Social justice and empowerment minister Virendra kumar stated that there was a need for careful examination of the demand made by several MPs to remove the 50% cap on reservation currently in place.
  • This constitutional amendment bill will provide power to the states to create their own list of other backward castes.

 

 

 

# Ujjwala 2.0 scheme

 

 

  • Prime minister Narendra modi on Tuesday launched the second phase of the Ujjwala gas connection scheme for the poor.
  • This scheme will provide the biggest relief to lakhs of migrant worker families in the country.
  • Under Ujjwala 2.0 migrant workers would no longer have to struggle to get address proof documents to get the gas connections.

 

 

 

# Afghanistan

 

 

  • India will temporarily relocate its personnel from the consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif in Afghanistan.
  • Also, the Indian embassy in Kabul has urged all Indian citizens to make “immediate travel arrangements” before all commercial flights are discontinued.
  • Taliban terrorists have started a fresh attack to capture mazar-e-sharif.

 

 

 

# Reliance

 

 

  • Reliance new energy solar limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance industries limited (RIL), has announced it will invest $50 million to acquire 42.3 million shares of preffered stocks in Ambri inc.
  • This investment will help the company commercialise and grow its long duration energy storage system business globally.

  • RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said that RSS ia a staunch supporter of reservation.
  • He said that raservation is an affirmative to reduce inequality among different communities.
