Pakistan descended into civil disorder on Tuesday after Pakistan’s paramilitary forces bulldozed their way into the Islamabad high court premises to arrest former prime minister Imran khan.
He was arrested in a corruption case slapped on him by Shehbaz sharif government.
Imran khan supporters stormed into the Pakistan army’s general headquarters in Rawalpindi and the corps commander residence in Lahore cantonment.
Internet has been shut down in multiple cities and section 144 has been imposed.
# Karnataka
Polling is being held today in Karnataka to elect representatives for 224 seats in Karnataka assembly.
About 5.3 crores registered electors across 31 districts, will take their pick from 2613 candidates at 58,545 polling stations.
The fight will be three cornered between BJP, Congress and JDS.
# Cheetah
In a setback to the cheetah introduction project, Daksha, a female cheetah brought from South Africa died in a confrontation with two male cheetahs at Kuno national park in Madhya Pradesh.
This is the third cheetah death in Kuno in the last one and a half month.
The two male cheetahs involved in the fight were identified as agni and Vayu, part of the “Phinda adult male coalition”, also known as the white walkers.
# Army
Army generals will no longer don distinctive regimental headgear like Gorkha hats or maroon berets, belts, lanyards and shoes.
They will still wear their dark olive green uniforms but with standardized accoutrements that do not display or identify their regimental affiliation.
The army has decided to adopt a common uniform for one star brigadiers, two star major generals, three star lieutenant generals and 4 star generals.
