The annual economic survey for 2022-23 projected the economy to grow by somewhere between 6% and 6.8%, depending on global factors in 2023-24.
Meanwhile, IMF on Tuesday said its India’s outlook remains robust, with unchanged forecast for a dip in 2023 growth to 6.1% but a rebound to 6.8% in 2024.
GST collections rose 10.6% to ₹155922 crore in January logging the second highest monthly collection.
Production of eight infrastructure sectors rose at a 3 month high of 7.4% in December against 4.1% in the same month of 2021.
# Cold wave
India may have seen a number of record breaking warm years in recent decades.
The analysis led by Indian Institute of tropical meteorology scientists took into account the number of cold wave events in the last seven decades and found that more cold wave days are occurring in the recent decades than the previous decades.
The study found that the longest cold waves that occurred during the last eight decades were associated with La Nina conditions in the equatorial Pacific regions.
# Andhra pradesh
CM YS Jagan mohan reddy made it clear on Tuesday that Vishakhapattanam would become the capital of Andhrapradesh in coming months, ending ambiguity on the issue.
His statement came at a time when the supreme Court had listed the hearing of the case on Amravati as capital.
In 2019, Jagan had announced his plans to create three capital cities.
