# Covid-19

• On thursday, PM  addressed a meeting of all CMs and advised a firm strategy of  ‘ test, track and treat’.

• He also advised for micro containment zones and ruled out the possibility of large scale lockdown.

• The double mutant virus which is specific to India has been named as B.1.617.

• According to a presentation made to the national adverse effect following immunization committee on march 31, there have been 617 severe adverse events following immunization.

# Kashi temple

• A local court in Varanasi on thursday directed the Archaeological survey of India to conduct a survey of the Gyanwapi mosque.

• The gyanwapi mosque is adjacent to the Kashi vishwanath temple and allegedly built after demolishing an ancient temple.

• The UP sunni waqf  board said it would challenge the order in the Allahabad high court, terming it ‘unwarranted’.

# India-pakistan dialogue

• The external affairs ministry had said that India’s high commission in Islamabad and Pakistan’s high commission in New Delhi are effective channel of communication.

• Some media reports had speculated that UAE is acting as a mediator for these dialogues.

• Two pakistani websites have reported that the dialogue’s agenda include the possible visit of PM Modi in SAARC summit in october 2021.

# Judge’s vacancies

• `A meeting of the five member supreme court collegium led by CJI SA Bobde on names to fill the five judicial vacancies in court ended on an inconclusive note on thursday.

• This may be the last meeting of collegium with SA Bobde as CJI.

• The next collegium meeting will be headed by new CJI NV Ramanna.

# US-Palestine policy

• Biden administration has reversed a Trump’s administration policy towards the palestine.

• The Biden administration announced the restoration of atleast $235 million in financial assistance to the palestinians.

• The Biden administration had already announced $15 million in coronavirus relief to the palestinians in march.
