# Exit polls

 

 

  • Exit polls were unanimous in predicting a clean sweep for the DMK led alliance in the Tamil nadu assembly election.
  • Most exit polls has predicted a clear left democratic front win in Kerela.
  • All the exit polls has predicted a NDA win in AssamĀ  and puducherry.
  • Exit polls are divided on the prediction of results in Bengal as some shows BJP win and some shows TMC win while some shows a hung assembly.

 

 

 

# Vaccine maitri

 

 

  • India is unlikely to resume its vaccine maitri programme for the neighbourhood, including Bangladesh, Nepal and Srilanka, until atleast july.
  • India has had to suspend the export of both commercial and grant based vaccine doses, due to surge in second wave and vaccine shortage.
  • India’s last shipment to Bangladesh was a grant of 1 lakh doses sent on april 2.

 

 

 

# Delhi oxygen crisis

 

 

  • The Delhi high court on thursday asked the central government why states such as Madhya pradesh and Maharashtra were alloted more oxygen than they had asked for.
  • Delhi’s projected demand was 700 metric tonnes, but it was allocated 480 MT.
  • Delhi is not fully supplied its quota of 480 MT, only 390-400 MT is regularly supplied to Delhi.

 

 

 

# Covid vaccines

 

 

  • Covaxin maker Bharat biotech on thursday said it would supply the vaccine to state government at 400/dose.
  • Covaxin had earlier fixed the price at 600/dose.
  • A subject expert committee has recommended to the central drugs standard control organisation (CDSCO) to grant permission to Hetero Biopharma to conduct the phase 3 trial of Russia’s sutnik v vaccine.

 

 

 

# China’s space station

 

 

  • China on thursday launched the main module of its first permanent space station that will host astronauts for the long term.
  • The “Tianhe” or the “Heavenly harmony” module blasted into space atop a long march 5B rocket from the Wenchanng launch centre on the southern island province of Hainan.
  • The launch kicks off the first of 11 mission necessary to complete, supply and crew the station by the end of next year.
