# Vaccination drive

 

 

  • Citizens above the age of 45, irrespective of co-morbidities, will be eligible for covid-19 vaccination from April 1.
  • This decision has been taken by the union cabinet on the basis of the advice of the covid task force and experts.
  • India has vaccinated about 5 crore people till now.

 

 

 

# Loan moratorium

 

 

  • The supreme court on tuesday directed banks and financial institutions to refund compound interest, interest on interest or penal interest collected on EMI for loans during the period of moratorium from march 1 to august 31 last year.
  • The amount that was collected from loan defaulters during this six month should be credited/adjusted in the next installment.
  • The judgement concluded that the government scheme to restrict the waiver of interest on interest to loans worth only upto 2 crore as irrational.

 

 

 

# UNHRC

 

 

  • India on tuesday abstained from a crucial vote on srilanka’s rights record at the UNHRC in Geneva.
  • The resolution on promoting reconciliation, accountability and human rights in Srilanka was however, adopted after 22 states of the 47 member council voted in its favour.
  • Srilanka, which had earlier deemed the resolution ” politically motivated” was quick to reject the UN move to collect and preserve evidence of war crimes in the country.

  • The ISA has released ease of doing solar report 2020, on 24th february 2021.
