# BRICS summit

 

 

  • China’s president XI Xinping may visit India in the second half of this year to attend the BRICS leaders meeting.
  • It is expected that the BRICS summit will be a physical summit.
  • Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said that current border crisis will not impact the India china bilateral relations.

 

 

 

# Construction workers

 

 

  • The Delhi government has started a campaign to register construction workers .
  • The registration process is being carried out at 45 sites across the city.
  • An estimated 10 lakh construction workers will register to avail a large number of schemes, including pension and maternity benefits.

 

 

 

# Kerela government

 

 

  • The Kerela government has invalidated a controversial agreement that kerela shipping and inland navigation corporation (KSINC) had reached with the US-based firm, EMCC international.
  • The firm was assigned to build and operate a deep sea trawling fleet to harvest the marine wealth off the state’s coast.
  • This agreement would hamper the interests of the local fishing communities.

 

 

 

# FATF plenary

 

 

  • The three day virtual plenary session of FATF commenced on friday.
  • In this session, pakistan’s performance in terms of measures taken against money laundering and terror funding will be reviewed once again.
  • Pakistan has been in the FATFs grey list since june 2018, when it was presented with a 27 point action plan.
  • Pakistan is likely to remain in the grey list.

 

 

 

# Banking sector

 

 

  • India ratings and research on monday revised its outlook on the overall banking sector to stable for fy 22.
  • The rating was negative in earlier report.
  • For public sector banks (PSBs), the outlook has been revised to stable from the negative and for private banks, the agency continues to have stable outlook.
