# Rajeev Gandhi assasination case

 

 

 

  • The solicitor general of India Tushar Mehta informed the supreme court that Tamil Nadu governor Banwarilal purohit will take a decision “as per the constitution” in the next three or four days on a plea for release by “A.G Perarivalan”.
  • A.G Perarivalan is undergoing life imprisonment for the assasination of former PM Rajiv Gandhi in 1991.
  • The petition of release was filed by A.G Perarivalan under article 161 of the constitution of India.

  • The cummulative number of healthcare workers vaccinated against covid-19 has touched 9,99,065.

  • Brazil is set to receive the go ahead from the Indian government on friday to collect two million doses of the covishield vaccine made by SII.
  • The export of vaccine to brazil has been delayed as the government had not yet finalised its plans for exports of Indian made vaccines.
  • Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Maldives has already received the vaccine doses.

  • PM Modi and many other chief ministers and MPs, MLAs above 50 years of age will get the vaccine in the second phase of the vaccination drive.
  • They will get inoculated along with persons above 50 years of age.

  • Five persons were killed in a fire that broke out on the fifth floor of an under construction building of SII.
  • The fire has not caused any harm to the covishield vaccine storage facility located at a distance from the spot.
