This year’s SCO summit is chaired by vice-president Venkaiah naidu. One of the topics of discussion is terrorism.
Venkaiah naidu said in the meeting that cross border terrorism is one of the biggest challenges for countries belonging to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. He said this without naming Pakistan.
With the exception of India, all other SCO member nations expreseed their support for china’s Belt and road initiative and joint implementation of projects with the Eurasian economic union.
# DELHI
Delhi government has cut the price for RT-PCR tests from rupees 2400 to 800.
Positivity rate of covid-19 is declining in Delhi reaching upto 7.35% on 30th november.
With a mean minimum temperature of 10.2 degree celsius, this november has been the coldest in 71 years, according to data available with the Indian meteorological department.
# Nagaland
Nagaland governor RN Ravi, who is also the interlocutor for Naga peace talks, made it clear that there would be no separate flag and constitution for Nagaland.
This demand for a separate flag and constitution has been consistently made by NSCN-IM*.
Governor RN Ravi said the flag and constitution are the pride of India and the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Union of India are supreme.
# Countering maoists
The union government is in the process of deploying five more batallions of CRPF to Chattisgarh to scale up anti maoists operations, particularly in the south bastar region.
More than 45 CAPF batallions are already deployed in Chattisgarh, where 14 districts are maoist affected. Out of which 8 districts are severly affected.
In addition, the CRPFs specially trained “cobra units” and the state’s special task force and District reserve guards are also engaged in the forward areas.
# Fitch report
After a covid-19 pandemic led contraction consumer spending in 2020, household spending will return to growth in 2021, expanding by as much as 6.6%. A report of Fitch solutions said on 30th november.
# 5G connections in India
India is expected to surpass 350 million 5G subscriptions by 2036, accounting for 27% of all mobile subscriptions in India. According to a report by Swedish telecom equipment maker Ericsson.
As per “the Ericsson mobility report 2020”, four out of every ten mobile subscriptions in 2026 will be 5G globally with 5G subscriptions forecast to reach 3.5 billion.
Based on the reported timeline for spectrum auction for 5G services, India could have its first 5G connection in 2021.
The report also mentioned that traffic per smartphone user in India, rising from 13.5 GB a month in 2019 to 15.7 GB in 2020.
