# Mining in aravalis

 

 

  • Haryana government is seeking permission for mining in aravalis in Gurugram and Faridabad in supreme court.
  • Environmentalists and residents are strongly opposed to mining being legalised and demanded that forest cover be increased in the state.
  • As per the economic survey of haryana 2020-21, as many as 58 mines out of total 119 have been allocated.

 

 

 

# Business in Nagaland

 

 

  • Almost a year after nagaland governor RN ravi poked the nagaland government for letting “armed gangs” reign and carry out gunpoint exortion.
  • Similar concerns has been raised by the state’s largest trading body, which is driving the businesses out of Nagaland.
  • These illegal extortions led to decrease in business by 60-75% and moving to assam.

 

 

 

# Saraswati river

 

 

  • The centre has reconstituted an advisory committee to chalk out a plan for studying mythical saraswati river for next two years.
  • The earlier panel’s term ended in 2019.
  • The committee will be chaired by culture minister and include officials from the culture, tourism, water resources, environment and forest.

 

 

 

# NPR

 

 

  • In 2021, the Indian government will update NPR for the third time.
  • Prior to this, NPR was updated in 2010 and 2015.
  • Currently, Indian government has an electronic data base of nearly 119 crore residents of India.

 

 

 

# Hindus in pakistan

 

 

  • The Hindus in pakistan’s restive khyber pakhtunkhwa has decided to pardon the mob that vandalised and burned down a century old temple in the province.
  • The local clerics and members of the Hindu community held a meeting on saturday to resolve the issue.
  • This group is called “jigra” i.e the meeting of elder people.
