China’s military announced on wednesday that frontline troops of India and China had begun disengaging in a “synchronised and organised ” manner.
The disengagement is mainly focused on the north and south banks of pangong lake.
However, the Indian source has said unofficially that this is a partial disengagement.
# INS Viraat dismantling
The supreme court on wednesday ordered status quo on the dismantling of the navy’s decommissioned aircraft carrier, INS viraat.
The petitioner has argued that this vintage navy warrior ship should be converted into museum.
The government stated in the court that the petitioner may buy the ship from shree ram group to convert it into a museum.
# Effects of school closure
According to the study, on an average, 92% of students from classes 2 to 6 have lost atleast one specific functional ability in language that they may have acquired in previous years.
The same figure for mathematics is 82%.
As many as 16,607 primary school children in 1137 government schools between classes 2 and 6 across five states were surveyed for the study titled ” loss of learning during the pandemic”.

# UAPA cases
Only 2.2% cases registered under the unlawful activities (prevention) act between the years 2016 and 2019 ended in convictions by court.
This data has been presented by the union home ministry in the rajya sabha.
Union minister of state for home G kishan reddy informed the upper house that as per the 2019 crime in India report compiled by national crime records bureau, the total numbers of persons arrested under the act in 2019 is 1948.
# Air India loss
Air India incurred a loss of 7982 crore rupees in financial year 2019-20, according to provisional figures shared by the government in parliament.
The national carrier also incurred a loss of 2570 crore rupees in the first quarter of current fiscal.
