The AAP government scored a decisive victory over the Union Government in its almost decade long battle to control services.
The supreme Court on Thursday ruled that the elected government of the national capital Territory of Delhi had both executive and legislative jurisdiction over services enabling it to decide bureaucrats posting and make them accountable to ministers.
The bench of chief justice DY Chandrachud and Justices MR Shah, Krishna Murari, Hima kohli and PS Narasimha also reaffirmed that the centre had exclusive legislative and executive control over services relating to public order, land and police as envisaged under article 239 A of the Constitution that created a legislative Assembly for Delhi.
The five judge bench delivered a unanimous judgement.

ONGC on Thursday reported two oil and gas discoveries in the Arabian sea blocks that the state run explorer had won in the auctions conducted under the OALP (Open acreage licensing policy) regime.
The discoveries were made in blocks Amrit and Moonga won in the first and third OALP auction rounds.
Amrit is about 100 KM from the landfill point and is spread across 725 Sq Km.
Moonga is 30 Km from the Mumbai coast and is spread over 4668 sq km.

For the first time in Pakistan’s history, the US dollar on Thursday hit the 300 rupees barrier against the local currency in the interbank aa well as the Open market.
The Karachi stock exchange and the currency market both showed clear signs of the unstable political situation in the country.
The central bank of Pakistan has, said that the banking market was responsible for artificially increasing the dollar rates to earn profits.
The state bank of Pakistan has about $4.5 billion of foreign reserves, barely enough to cover one month’s of import.
