# Manipur

• The government of Maharashtra, Andhra pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, UP, Himachal pradesh, Haryana and Uttarakhand are moving swiftly to reach out and bring home their people left stranded in Manipur where ethnic clashes have claimed over 50 lives Since May 3.
• Maharashtra and Andhra pradesh have arranged special flights, while Rajasthan is talking to Indigo to bring back about 125 Rajasthanis.
• Neighbours Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura have already started evacuating their residents stuck in the strife hit state.
• All outbound flights from Imphal are fully booked for the next few days and airfares on the Kolkata-imphal routes swelled to as high as ₹30000.
• Flights are safest way out as roads passes through violence hit hill districts.

# Bangladesh

• The International monetary Fund flagged risks to the Bangladesh economy such as inflation, growth and foreign reserves as it concluded its mission under the $4.7 billion loan programme.
• The IMF will conduct the first review of its extended credit facility, extended fund facility and resilience and sustainability facility arrangements later this year.
• Bangladesh’s foreign exchange reserve are expected to fall to $29.8 billion, the lowest in seven years.

• The Taliban agreed with China and Pakistan to extend the belt and road initiative to Afghanistan.
• It will potentially draw in billion of dollars to fund infrastructure projects in the sanctions hit country.
• China, Russia and Iran are among a handful of countries that maintain warm ties with Taliban.

# Arab League

• Arab League foreign ministers adopted a decision to readmit Syria after more than a decade of suspension from the Arab League.
• The decision was taken at a closed meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Cairo.
• Syria’s membership of the Arab League was suspended in 2011 after a bloody crackdown on street protests against Asad regime.
