# Population

  • In overtook China to Become the most populous country.
  • India and China together have accounted for almost a third of global population increase since 1950.
  • In the next 75 years, Africa will contribute nearly 95% of the global population growth.
  • The First population explosion occurred in Europe after the industrial revolution when the country’s population doubled from 100 million to 200 million.

# US

  • US President Joe Biden is looking forward to travelling to India in September to attend G20 meeting.
  • US spokesperson said, this year India is hosting G20, US is hosting APEC, and Japan is hosting G7, it means many Quad members are taking leadership role.
  • This will be Biden’s first trip to India as part of the G20 leaders summit.

# ISRO

  • The Indian space research organization on Saturday successfully placed two Singapore satellites – teLEOS-2 and Lumelite-4 in their desired orbits.
  • A Polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV-C55), which carried these satellites, also carried out scientific experiments with seven payloads attached to its PS4 upper stage.
  • It was PSLV’s 57th flight.

# Assam

  • The government’s efforts to make natural gas available in the North East received a major filip, with Asia’s longest underwater hydrocarbon pipeline beneath the mighty Brahmaputra, connecting river island majuli with Jorhat in upper Assam, completed by the Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited.
  • IGGL is implementing the 1656 Km long NEGG natural gas pipeline project, being constructed at a cost of ₹9265 crore.
