The CBI on Friday served a notice on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, asking him to join the investigation into the case of alleged irregularities in framing and implementation of the now withdrawn excise policy.
This triggered a storm with AAP alleging the case was “politically influenced”.
Kejriwal is not an accused in the case.
Former deputy CM Manish Sisodiya, who was arrested last month, is accused number 1, besides 15 others, including former top excise officials.

For the first time in six months, the daily covid-19 fatality count in India touched 20 on Thursday.
The day’s case count too climbed to 11109 up from 10168 on the previous day.
The number of active cases in the country had crossed 50000 for the first time since September.
The daily positivity rate crossed 5% on Thursday.

The national commission for protection of child rights has shot off letters to all states asking them to issue directions to all schools, both government and private, to adhere to the curriculum and evaluation process laid out by the NCERT and SCERT’s in consonance with national curriculum framework under the right to education act 2009.
The commission has said any attempts by boards to enforce a curriculum of their own that is not in compliance with the state academic authority and NCERT is in violation of the law.
The RTE act speaks of uniformity in curriculum in all schools and quality education.
# Forex reserves
The country’s foreign exchange reserves jumped to $584.8 billion for the week ended April 7, the highest in nine months.
That is an increase of $6.3 billion from the previous week.
